UPLOADING:
Upload to multiple file hosts in ONE GO!
Use mass mirror sites so you can upload to multiple file hosts by only uploading to one site. Since different people have problem with different file hosts, this is a great solution to make everyone happy. And since it's on many file hosts, you do not need to re-upload when file is deleted as long as the other hosts still have them.
A list of mass mirror sites I've tried (From Best to Worst):
www.nixpi.com (no ads at all, also includes mediafire)
www.uploadground.com (some ads)
www.uploadmirrors.com (has a pop up ad)
www.sharebee.com (popular, few mirrors, has ads)
www.rapidspread.com (slow upload)
www.uploadjockey.com (popular, loaded with ads, require account for more mirrors)
www.fileducky.com (not enough mirrors)
www.massmirror.com (not working at time of post)
www.uploadfrog.net (not working at time of post)
www.xlice.net (not working at time of post)
DOWNLOADING:
Auto Download, Skip Timer, Skip Captcha
There is a firefox add-on called Skipscreen, it automatically give you the file when you visit the download page. See the video demonstration on the official site. Basically, you can just open all your rapidshare download pages, and go do your thing, when the download is available it will pop up for you. Works for MANY file hosts, including all the popular ones, like megaupload, rapidshare, mediafire, zshare, depositfiles, etc. For some file hosts such as depositfiles, you can skip timer and have concurrent download as long as you open the other links before you start the first download. Be sure to download the add-on from the official site and not from firefox add-on site, it additional features like anti-captcha and faster update.
If having problem with certain file hosts due to SkipScreen, do this:
Firefox menu > Tools > SkipScreen > Options > untick that site
This will likely be temporary until they fix the problem.
Auto Check Links
There is a script called "Rapidshare Links Checker" that automatically checks file host links (not just rapidshare!) on websites and also makes the url clickable. It shows a small tick or cross next to the link to show if the file is deleted or not. Here's how it looks like:
(Note: This is better than "The Cavern Links Checker" since it also check links with anonym.to)
How to get it:
Step 1. Install Firefox
Step 2. Install the add-on called Greasemonkey
Step 3. Install the script called Rapidshare Links Checker
To configure the script, right click the monkey icon on bottom right corner of Firefox > User Script Commands > [Rapidshare Links Checker] Configuration
Premium Link Generators
There are sites on the web that lets you download files like premium users. That is, you can download multiple files at same time or right after another.
How to find the sites:
The best method I know is to search "premium link generator" in Google.
Since these sites tend to disappear really fast, google is a really reliable way to pick out the working ones. Since the best/working ones are always mentioned around the web more than the non-working ones, so that helps it rank up on google.
At the time of posting, from going through the first few result pages, the ones I've tested and working are:
(Be careful some have file size restriction 100mb/500mb, you won't know until they cut you off in the middle of the download. Some may not be available during peak hour.)

The German Rapidshare.de site is closing March 1st and will redirect to Rapidshare.com. I don't know if files hosted there will be moved to Rapidshare.com, or deleted.
Rapidshare.com is already having server overloads all the time for non-premium users, with a flood of .de users I can only see the problem getting worse.
Of course, the 15 minute wait between files doesn't help, either.
I like SUNBO's idea of using mass mirror servers, I've seen many people have problems with this or that site depending on their country, or other reasons.

As they say there, any files from rapidshare.de will no longer be available.
That shutdown is quite bad since at .de they at least didn't limit the downloads to 10 unless you make an account like on .com.

I think this list need a little update. I use nowadays 3 different hosts.
IN GENERAL:
- you can make your files available in longer term if you register a free account
- password protection of your archives also makes it available longer
MEDIAFIRE: hxxp://www.mediafire.com
from the uploader side (with free account):
+ the interface is good (you can easily make folders, share folders, rename files)
+ it has desktop client (you can upload more files at the same time with less interruption)
+ the files availability only depends on the activity of the account (on logging in, not on the downloaders activity nor on exact file deletion deadlines)
+ 50 GB storage
- MF implemented a filter recently which evaluates the files and if it finds them corrupted/encrypted only the account owner can download it :S
- before every upload it analyzes the files which takes extra time
- the uploading speed is limited to ~200 kbyte/sec (N2BC)
- it suspends/locks accounts after 3 strikes
- it deletes archives which are password protected (but somehow they don't consider .7z files to be archives) (N2BC)
- it deletes files containing key words like: sex, hentai, rape, loli, fuck, etc.
- 200 MB file size limit
from the downloader side (free):
+ no waiting time between downloads
+ no captcha
- slow download speed (~50-100 kbyte/sec) (N2BC)
- ADs
- no parallel downloads
- captcha in case of downloading a file right after the other
SENDSPACE: hxxp://www.sendspace.com
from the uploader side (with free account):
+ good interface
+ it has desktop client
+ unlimited upload speed (N2BC)
- it only stores files for 30 days (N2BC)
- 300 MB file size limit
from the downloader side (free):
+ no waiting time between downloads
+ no captcha
- poor download speed (~100 kybte/sec) (N2BC)
- often "Sorry, the free service is at full capacity." messages (N2BC)
- ADs
- no parallel downloads
TEMP-SHARE: hxxps://temp-share.com
from the uploader side (with free account):
+ 400 MB file size limit
+ 180 days storage time (in fact they deleted the files after 90 days)
+ no deletion at all due to copyrighted or adult content (N2BC)
- basic interface untill the 15th of January (can't share folders)
- no desktop client
- variable upload speed from ~600 kbyte/sec to 100 kbyte/sec
from the downloader side (free):
+ no waiting time between downloads
+ no captcha
+ few ADs
+ paralell downloads
+ decent download speed (~150-300 kbyte/sec) (N2BC)
NOTE: This review is based on my experiences. The lines have N2BC (need to be confirmed) at the end are open conclusions, feel free to confirm or disprove them.

2. Wantan W0rks has been removed from my T-S account with copyright violation mark. (Only this one).
3. MF and T-S supports multiple threads (with 10 threads u can download much more faster, but u need something like JDownloader, etc - MF download speed: ~1-2MB\s, T-S: 3-4MB\s when their servers are not heavy loaded).

Another thing that might wanna be mentioned in this; not using skipscreen. I haven't used it in a long time, nor any other add ons or scrips. All you need now is JDownloader.

JDownloader is a stand-alone downloading client that works with pretty much anything it seems. I've used it with downloading files from standard http links to random upload/share sites to even youtube or any other "tube"-like sites  . JDownloader can integrate into firefox (which I can't comment on, as I prefer manually using it) and automatically take over download links, but it can also just take in download links by simply [Ctrl]+[C]ing them. But what makes it awesome is that not only can you hoard/queue up all your downloads, but lets say someone posts like a 10 part rar...you can just highlight all 10 links, and instantly import all 10 at once into JDownloader for queuing.
I don't know how much more I can emphasize how awesome it is, any and everyone should just try it out and mess with it at least.
