jacxxx: I think I understand this if I skip the texts [...]. It seems obvious that making more and more threads because of more incoming requests requires more and more overhead, so the mean time per request will grow a little when the number of requests being handled simultaneously grows, and more data have to be pushed on the RAM. This explains the message “server overloaded” or similar we sometimes see, the server must slow down the traffic in this way when e.g. 80% of the RAM is used. Yep, that's very accurate.
jacxxx: I don’t understand that more RAM may be assigned than available – isn’t this a software error? Well, you see, our current hosting is not a dedicated server, it is a VPS (Virtual Private Server), that means the actual server computer runs many VPSs and only allows our VPS to use as much RAM as we are paying for. If we exceed that limit, then our VPS's process which is consuming the most RAM at the moment is killed (if that process is the web server then we have downtime, and the server is rebooted).
jacxxx: you need the benchmark for that reason? Well, in that statement I meant that I was guessing the milliseconds. If I'd run a benchmark, then I'd have the exact amount of time.
jacxxx: (don't know of any notification when someone posts a proposal at http://lah.uservoice.com/ - checking --> a coffee commercial?! ) I guess if you login there and go to "Settings" (top-right of the page) you can turn on email notifications (you may need to confirm your email address first if there is an "Unconfirmed" warning showing there), but I'm not completely sure which kinds of notifications it will send. And yeah, thanks for remindind me that it is coffee break time.

ult_combo: ... the post address is already in that message -- you can right click the "View original post with this attachment" link and select "Copy link address" in case you feel like linking to the post, it also provides a more compact link format.
jacxxx: * advise: use font size "small" in your post Well, you can use the more compact format which I mentioned above, or wait a bit -- the next big update should bring a couple layout changes. I just practiced this suggestion of yours in my post here, but rejected it immediately because in the compact link format the thread name (it's in another thread than I post) is not visible. This is a very important reason to incorporate the post address in the first place! But still I'll wait a bit with this one ...

That could explain for some people why at times their post completely vanish
ult_combo: .Well, in that statement I meant that I was guessing the milliseconds. If I'd run a benchmark, then I'd have the exact amount of time. which apparantly depends upon how many requests a second you feed: for one request/s maybe 10 ms, for 1000 req/s 24 h or so
